The design for this apartment arose from the joining of two adjacent spaces. Its minimalist, high contrast interior is intended for a couple with two growing daughters.

In the entrance hall, we encounter a black block, a shape resulting from the enclosure of the bathroom. A counterweight to this is provided by a series of white cupboards leading to the kitchen, while simultaneously acting as a wardrobe or entrance area. The table is adjacent on two sides to the countertop; this arrangement allowed us to achieve the greatest amount of space for further parts of the apartment, which we used for a spacious living room with a large, family-friendly sofa and footstools.

A corridor leads from the day area to the night area. It is this corridor that links the two separate spaces. In order to optically enlarge this space and add lightness, we used a backlit stretch ceiling.

The first room accessible from the corridor is the master bedroom. We have suggested a mattress on a low, underlit base, filling the entire breadth of the room.

The children's rooms add a dose of colour - both daughters adore shades of blue. We've matched these blues with greys, wood, and whites. A similar colour scheme can be found in the bathroom, a bright space with a lot of white, which is warmed by the addition of natural veneer. The shape of the bath and the monolithic washbasin match each other, and a soft, diffuse light emanates from the panels surrounding them, highlighting the hexagonal wall tiles.
